Brave KDF Troops In DRC Liberated Mudja From M23 Rebels And Assured Residents Of Physical Security

Kenyan troops deployed in Democratic Republic of Congo DRC under the United Nations Stabilization Mission in DRC (MONUSCO) carried out patrol duties in the general area of Mamove village within Beni Mavivi territory. During the four-days Long Range patrol mission, the troops were received by Chief of Operations Congolese National Army FARDC Colonel Morris and Chief of Intelligence Congolese National Army FARDC Colonel Gasto who assured KDF troops of their full support during the entire mission.

The Kenyan Contingent operating under the East African Community Regional Force (EACRF) conducted joint assurance patrols with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) forces in Mudja area, Eastern DRC. The area residents were very happy to see the troops for their presence gave them assurance of their physical security.

During the patrol immediate humanitarian needs identified include, need for food, water and medical assistance.
