North Rift region has suffered security meltdown caused by Bandits and cattle rustlers who have left many dead, others displaced and animals stolen. Some of the counties affected by this menace is Elgeyo Marakwet, Baringo County, Samburu County, Turkana County and a section of Laikipia County.
News just in indicates a step taken by the national government in collaboration with the county government of Elgeyo Marakwet to track down armed bandits that has caused insecurity situation in the North Rift region.
Today, the Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wesley Rotich together with the County Commissioner John Korir and security officers at Tot Police Station were all present during the testing of the drones that will be used for security surveillance to boost security situation in the area.

President William Ruto's led administration had vowed to stem out banditry in the North Rift region and this is a commendable step to weed out the vice.
