Among the SEALs' main functions are conducting small-unit special operations missions in maritime, jungle, urban, arctic, mountainous and desert environments. SEALs are typically ordered to capture or to eliminate high level targets, or to gather intelligence behind enemy lines. All active SEALs are male and members of the U.S. Navy.

Today, Amyna News put out a social media statement announcing that some U.S. Navy SEALs are on the island of Cyprus for a month long training. The full statement read, "Meanwhile, the Navy SEALs are on the island for a whole month and after the Underwater Disaster Unit, they were trained with the paratroopers. Unimaginable evolution untill a few years ago."

The statement by Amyna News was followed by photos showing U.S. Navy SEALs training together with their Cypriot counterparts. Since they are part of a secretive group their identities were concealed by wearing a mask.
