President Uhuru Kenyatta dances with NYS recruits during their Pass out parade in Gilgil, Nakuru County.

The latest report comes barely few hours after the head of state presided over the passing-out of the National Youth Service Recruits.

President Kenyatta while addressing the graduating cohort of 7,300 National Youth Service (NYS) recruits at the Gilgil Training College, congratulated the NYS freshers for successfully completing their 6-month paramilitary training and advised them to "go on and be great".

While at the colourful event were the Public Service Cainet secretary Proffesor Margaret Kobia, NYS Director-General Matilda Sakwa and College Commandant Ruth Mbuvi, the President Kenyatta assured the graduands the government's commitment to continue using NYS to develop a critical mass of employable youth in the country.

President Kenyatta also asked the country's security operators that is Kenya Defence Forces, the Kenya Police Service and National prison service for to consider NYS graduates and appealed to forces to recruit even more going forward.

“I reiterate my directive to the Police Service and all other disciplined services to redouble their efforts towards the absorption of the NYS cohorts into their ranks,” President Kenyatta said.
