CAPTURED A British man condemned to death in Donestk has been informed that his execution will occur.
Aiden Aslin, 28, and Shaun Pinner, 48, were seized in Mariupol after the surrender of their unit. After pleading guilty to mercenary and terrorist actions, the "Supreme Court" of the self-proclaimed Donestk People's Republic convicted them of a "violent takeover of power" and informed them to await execution by firing squad. Mr. Aslin's family told the BBC on Wednesday evening that his captors had informed him that the British government had not attempted to negotiate on his behalf. Pamela Hall, Mr. Aslin's grandmother, reported that he informed his family through the telephone that his kidnappers had informed him that "time was running out." She stated, "There are no words; this must be everyone's biggest dread to have a family member threatened in this manner." This morning, when he called his mother, Aiden was quite distressed. Aiden has stated that the DPR has informed him that no one from the United Kingdom has contacted him and that he will be executed.
