Florence Macharia was the counter terrorism court judge at the Shanzu Law Courts before she was promoted by President William Ruto alongside others to the High Court.
Judicial Service Commission, JSC had recommended a list of 20 nominees to President William Ruto and he nominated all of them to be judges at the High Court of Kenya.

Florence Macharia, Judge of the High Court of Kenya is an alumnus of University of South Africa (LL.M) and University of Nairobi (LL.B). She joined the Judiciary in 2006 as a Resident Magistrate, rising through the ranks to a Chief Magistrate, she was the HoS, Shanzu Law Court.

Shanzu Court is the first Counter Terrorism Court in the Country. Shanzu Court was also launched as the first SGBV Court in the Country under her leadership.
