At the Defence Headquarters in Nairobi, there was a change of command as Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed, the departing Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Defense, transferred the docket to Patrick Mariru, the new Permanent Secretary.
Mohammed gave a speech as he turned over the docket to the Ministry of Defence's military and civilian leadership, thanking them for their support during his time there and for having a strong work ethic.He emphasized that the MoD's exemplary performance was the result of cooperation and consultative engagements among the Ministry's leaders, military personnel, and civilian staff.
On the other hand, the new PS stated in his speech that he will collaborate with the ministry's military and civilian leadership to carry out the mandate of the ministry of defense.
