President Uhuru Kenyatta is currently presiding over a state function organized by the military in the coastal town of Lamu. Of great importance is the absence of his deputy William Ruto who was busy today receiving leaders from two constituencies who have decamped to his party ahead of 2022.
The event dubbed color presentation ceremony is key for the servicemen since it seeks to commemorate soldiers who died in the line of duty. From the video shared online the head of state could be seen laying flowers at the military cemetery which is based in the coastal town.
The two leaders have not been on good terms for more than three years, with the head of state choosing to work with the opposition chief who has constantly been by his side after the fallout. The event was attended by among other leaders from the military in the country.
