CAC/PAC JF-17 Thunder is a lightweight jet used for ground attack and other purposes as military needs may be from time to time. The aircraft was manufactured by two Asian countries, China and Pakistan after a joint development by two companies: Chengdu Aircraft Corporation and Pakistani Aeronautical Complex.

The fighter jet is single engine, light weight and has been engineered to serve as interception in addition to other primary capabilities. CAC/PAC JF-17 Thunder can also be used to fire air to air missiles, anti ship missiles and an autocanon. According to wiki files, the aircraft may have costed the Nigerian government a cool 25 million US dollars. The front parts such as the fusilage, aircraft wings and stabilizers are manufactured in China while the rest of its parts are prepared in Pakistan.

This aircraft is part of Nigeria's instrumental military arsenal as the country makes efforts to deal with terrorist organizations such as Boko Haram and the Islamic State of West African Province Terrorists that have for so long been a threat to her national security.
