The Chief of Defense Forces is the highest position that one can attain in the Kenya Defense Forces and is usually occupied by the highest ranking officer who is usually a general.

The position of Chief of Defense Forces in Kenya is usually rotated between the Kenya Navy, Kenya Army and the Kenya Air Force.

Currently, General Robert Kibochi from the Kenya Army is the Chief of the Defense Forces taking over from General (Retired) Samson Mwathethe of the Kenya Navy.
