Both big and small countries jealously protect their secrets. Keeping secrets is part of a military tradition. No one wants to dare obtain the intelligence of your nation and use it against you. For this reason, soldiers entrusted with crucial information often remain very secretive about it. Here are the reasons why.
1 A Soldier May Aid The Enemy
Terrorists as well as soldiers depend on intelligence to win. If a soldier leaks crucial details, he may aid the enemy into defeating his country. Nobody wishes for this so they prefer to remain lowkey about it.
2 Severe Repercussions
Soldiers are not exempted from punishment whenever they make serious mistakes. In the KDF, aiding the enemy by leaking secrets is considered treason against one's country and is punishable by death or imprisonment.
