East Africa Community force commander, Jeff Nyaga, has assured that the M23 armed group will not capture the city of Goma under his watch.
The major general assured the parties taking part in the Nairobi peace talks process to restore peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo, that he will use every option available to ensure the M23 don't take the city.
Goma is among the top cities in the mineral rich country and is in the Eastern part where the DRC troops have clashed heavily with the M23, and Nyaga's task is to lead the military operations of the EAC force that has teamed up with the DRC forces to quell the ongoing violence.
The fighting between the two sides, DRC and M23, has caused instability, displaced many people and forced others to flee to the neighboring countries Uganda and Rwanda.
