A family is painfully mourning the death of their kin in Somalia. 22 year old Gilbert Korir was reportedly attacked and killed in a military base in Somalia.

Korir's mother painfully recalls the last communication she had with her son, only a day before he succumbed to serious gunshot injuries. Nancy Mutai, mother of the deceased recounts how her son wanted his farm cultivated. "A day before he died, Korir called me and requested me to supervise the planting of crops in a farm he bought in the neighborhood", Korir's mother narrated before she broke into tears.
Korir was recruited into military and immediately deployed to Somalia. He bade his family farewell six months ago and that was the last moment the family members saw him alive. Korir's mother laments that he son died before he could marry and start a family. He really died a such a tender age . It is quite a trying moment for the family.
