Today, president Uhuru Kenyatta was in Uasin Gishu county to attend a pass out event. He saw over a section of graduating contingent during the Kenya Defence Forces Recruits passing-out ceremony at Moi Barracks Recruits Training School (RTS) in Eldoret. The president was accompanied by his wife, the first lady Margaret Kenyatta and other top government officials.
During the event, Uhuru Kenyatta was sure to heap praise on the Kenya Defence embracing unfamiliar nation building roles and excelling at them. “Due to your record of delivering superlative results, I have tasked the KDF from time to time to take charge of various strategic national programmes and even to rescue failing institutions. You did it with the revival of almost 600 kilometres of the dead Metre Guage in an impressive manner, ahead of schedule and within the budget,” the President said.
President Uhuru Kenyatta days at the statehouse are almost up and he is set to hand over to either William Ruto, the current deputy president, Raila Odinga or even Professor George Wajackoyah. Less than 40 days remain.
