The endnof the peace talks in Nairobi has started beweing fruits. This is after the DRC largest rebel group made it's statement on vacating all claimed territories and laying down their weapons to allow peace and a political process tobtake it's course. Led by general Makenga the rebel group set a new demand which is not only tough but require to be listened to.
"The rebel group was not representated in the Nairobi peace talks but we are happy about the outcome, we are ready to down our weapons but would like to have a meeting with the regional forces operating in Congo." Said the general.
The rebel group has in the past obeyed orders which other parties failed to and continue to show their readiness to have a peaceful Congo. On the other hand the group is always willing to defend itself when attacked. The Kishishe massacre where over 300 people have lost their lives is such incident where the MaiMai group invaded their territory leading to a heavy fight.
The group is organized in leardership with a general and supporting learders who are also fighters. With majority of it's members being the Tutsi speaking community the group seeks recognition in Congo as one of the communities in the country.
