The fifth banditry incident caught off the multi-agency police force working to flush out bandits guard. This comes after the attack in the Lomelo Region of Turkana East sub-county, which several locals described as noisy and full of uncontrolled gunfire. Authorities had to stand aside as bandits set fire to the perimeter fence of a large, gated community.

Residents are currently leaving the area since police have arrived in huge numbers and declared it to be unsafe. The bandits have also retreated, and a major search for their safe houses has begun. Technology (computer-controlled drones) is seen as a potent tool, particularly for gathering intelligence in the dense woodlands where the bandits hide out.
The police teams are currently devising a technique to permanently resolve the security issue that has slowed down operations in the area.
