The Kenyan contingent operating under the East African Community Regional Force has sent message to humanitarians hours after Securing Mudja area of Eastern Congo from the M23 rebels who had been terrorising the residents.
According to the reliable source, the Kenya Defense Force has stated that during their patrol in the area they realized that the people in that area needs food, water and medical assistance as soon as possible. However it was also reported that the residents were happy when they were secured by the forces as the leaders of tht contingent encouraged the locals to return to normalcy.
Adding to that they have called for collective efforts by the state of DRC and even non state actors in addressing human security challenges in the region. This is a great move in the recent talks that took place in Nairobi as the troops promised to ensure that peace and stability is maintained in the eastern part of DRC.
