Deadly Arms Nabbed From 2 Al-shabaab Terrorists Transporting Them to Mombasa

Anti Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) today carried a successful operation leading to the recovery of a deadly cache of arms en-route to the coastal city of Mombasa. The incident which happened in Kwale County led to the discovery of an AK47 rifle and several rounds of ammunition in a bag.

According to a report by the Facebook page 'Officers on Operation', which stated that the ATPU officers on a routine inspection nabbed a bus travelling from Kwale to Mombasa county. Acting on intelligence reports, the anti terror police managed to flash out the 2 suspects where the weapons were recovered hidden under a compartment in the bus.

Reports indicate that terrorist cells have been trying to carry out attacks against Kenya's key infrastructure developments and also inflict damage to communities through coordinated attacks. A suspected woman terrorist was also nabbed while traveling from Mandera on a Nairobi bound bus.
