Good News To DRC People As M23 Rebels Promises To Withdraw From Kishishe And Rumagambo

Thank you again my dear readers and welcome warmly to my daily news updates.

M23 rebels are also known as March 23 Movement. It is a group of fighters that have been fighting the Democratic Republic of Congo government for so many years.

In 2013 the Democratic Republic of Congo government headed by then President Joseph Kabila declared to have defeated M23 rebels.

The group reemerged again in November 2021 and they have been attacking FARDC in the Eastern part of DRC in Kivu Province.

The fighting led to the East African Community and the Great Lakes Region leaders holding a meeting that allowed regional forces to be sent to DRC in a bid to contain the situation.

The good news to the people of DRC today is that M23 has agreed to withdraw from Rumagambo and Kishishe towns.

In my view, both sides that are the government forces and M23 should end the ongoing hostilities against innocent civilians.
