How Different KDF IDs are from The Normal Civilian IDs

An identification card is an important document issued by the state or an organization for the purposes of identification of individuals. Information contained in the ID is normally different depending on the country one comes from or the organization a person is working for.

In Kenya, the governments issues ID cards to individuals who are above 18 years of age. By doing this, it prepares and allows them to participate in important state matters.

However, when any of adult individuals in Kenya decides to join the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), they have to forgo their civilian cards as they get issued with military IDs.

Although they serve the same purpose, military identification cards are totally different from civilian because of the information they contain.In militay IDs information like blood group of a soldier, service number, and the service the soldier belongs to is present.

Such information makes these cards unique and easily recognized whenever they are seen. The KDF main purpose is protection of sovereignity of the Kenyan state and keeping peace.
