KDF have deployed a team of special skilled soldiers to pursue the Al-shabaab attackers in Lamu county. Through their Facebook page, the Military group said that the multi-agency team comprising of special forces and other high-tech officials have been sent to pursue the militants who are believed to have disappeared into the Boni forest.
The today morning incident saw a number of soldiers seriously injured with some of them feared dead. KDF however says that the casualties are responding well to treatment at the Defence Forces Memorial Hospital in Nairobi. The incident happened along the Bhodei-Kiunga road.
The militants have always tried to cause fear in Kenya and its neighbouring countries. They usually target the Kenya Defence Forces since they are their main enemies who keep aborting their plans for attacks. The latest incident is aimed at causing panic but KDF has sworn to sweep away the militant group from the country.
The soldiers remain alert even as they work around the clock to eliminate the terrorists.
