JUST IN; Heavily Armed KDF Soldiers Spotted In DRC Doing Patrol Duties in Mamovi Village

Heavily armed Kenya Defence Forces in the Democratic Republic of Congo working under the United Nations Stabilization Mission, MONUSCO have been spotted carrying out patrol duties in the general area of Mamovi Village within the Beni-Mavivi.

According to the information shared by KDF, patrol duty was four days patrol mission and the troops were received by Chief of Operations Congolese National Army FARDC Colonel Morris and Chief of Intelligence Congolese National Army FARDC Colonel Gasto who assured KDF troops of their full support during the entire mission.

The KDF together with the Congolese Forces, FARDC conducted various patrols within Mamove village and its environs with an aim to deny the Allied Democratic Forces militias (ADF) the freedom of movement and offer security to the local population.

Kenya Defence Forces has been at the lead role in the DR Congo peace keeping mission. They were sent by President William Ruto to help restore order in the Eastern region of DRC through the East African Community Regional Force, EACRF.
