Kimilili MP Didmus Baraza Revisits The Deadly Twin Towers Attack That Left 2,997 People Killed

It is 20 years ago during the morning hours of Thursday of 11th September, 2001 when a very deadly bomb attack faced the city of Manhattan in New York leading to the death of 2,997 victim's and dozens injured. The attack was spearheaded by al-Qaeda terrorists who were 19 in number and grouped into 4 and in 4 planes, where 3 planes had 5 militants and the other one had 4 al-Qaeda terrorists.

The first plane hit the Northen tower of the World Trade Complex and the second hit the lower towers of the World Trade Complex (The Twin Towers). It only took 1 hour and 42 minutes for the 102 tower complex to collapse leading to massive destruction of properties and loss of lives. The third plane crashed the west of Pentagon which hosted the Headquarters of American Military. Then the 4rth plane missed their target which was the White House and It crashed into a field near Pennsylvania.

According to Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Baraza, our hearts still goes out to the families of those whoe were affected.

He writes, "RIP to all 2,997 lives lost in that day."
