Here's How to Treat Toothache at Home

Toothache pain is the worst experience one has to go through, it mostly occurs in the evenings. It makes one to lose sleep, get headache or difficulty concentrating. The aches are very painful and challenging to treat.

Here are some of the homemade remedies to provide temporary relief;


A crushed cloves releases allicin, an oily liquid and natural disease fighter. It has been found that when one chews or places a chopped piece of garlic on the aching tooth it helps to relieve pain.

Avocado seeds and leaves are also good. Crush the seed into powder form and sun dry it for 2-3 days. Then use the powder when brushing teeth. Alternatively, one can chew leaves as they are best for teeth.

Clove oil

It acts as a natural pain reliever. The natural oils, termed as eugenol helps to relieve pain or swelling from the toothache.

How to apply it

Soak a cotton ball or swab with few drops of clove oil. Then place it on the sensitive area of the tooth or gums for 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Warm Salty water

Whenever you experience toothache, add 1 teaspoon of salt to warm water and sip it. Let it stay for some seconds in the mouth goggle then spit. It has been found to help relieve pain.

Another option, look for bamboo tree. Get the bark of the tree and chew then put on the affected area, you can use it's leaves as well. But it's bark is more stronger than leaves. 

Finally, maintain tooth care and hygiene.
