More than often you hear the phrases; Let me take a shower or let me bathe. Have you ever asked yourself the difference between the two words. Let's see the difference.

Shower and bath/bathe are used interchangebly. Amercan English Dictionary defines bath an act of cleaning oneself by immersing in water. Here water is held in something may be a bucket or bathtub. Bathtub is a large container for holding water in which a person may bathe or take bath.

Shower on the other hand refers to the act of cleaning oneself but water is sprayed down from the top and constantly drains the person. Here there is no vessel that is used to hold water as in the case of a bath -bathtub. In a shower, water flows from a shower head, a nozzle like device.Water may be in the tank or pumped to the shower head and when the valve is turned on ,water flows.
