Good News to Kenyans After the Government Declares Monday a Public Holiday

The government through the office of the Cabinet Secretary in charge of the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government programs CS Fred Matiang'i has declared Monday a public holiday.

This has been communicated through a gazette notice by the Cabinet Secretary noting that the day will be to commemorate Utamanduni day.

"In line with the provisions of section two and four of the public holidays act, it is hereby confirmed that the 11th of October 2021 will be public holiday by dint of Utamanduni-day falling on Sunday 10th of October 2021."CS Fred Matiang'i noted.

CS Fred Matiang'i has noted that it is the first time that the Utamanduni day will be celebrated in Kenya since it earlier on was known as Moi day and not Utamanduni day.

The Cabinet Secretary has since asked Kenyans to ensure that they ensure they celebrate the rich Kenyan culture that the nation enjoys.
