The African Blackwood is the most expensive wood not only in Africa but in the world for it costs up to Ksh 800 000, it is extremely rare and it takes a total of 50 good years for the tree that produces the woods to grow from the ground and be ready.
The woods are mostly found in the East Africa region alongside the shores of Tanzania and Mozambique, the tree grows to a height that ranges between 4 meters to around 15 meters if it will not be cut off on the way and it's outer colour is always grey while in the inside is black, the rareness of the wood has lead to it's high demand in the international markets which is one of the reasons why it is very expensive.
The African Blackwood is mostly used to make special equipments mostly being music instruments due to it's durability and among other factors.
