Kenya is one of the countries that is experiencing the third wave of coronavirus infection. The government was forced to reintroduce stringent measures to curb the spread of the virus. Five counties were put under lockdown while schools across the country were closed.
The Ministry of Health on Tuesday announced that 394 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours after a sample of 2923 was tested. Sadly 14 patients lost the battle against the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health also delivered great news to all Kenyan saying that 2217 patients defeated the virus after recovering from various health facilities across the country. Total recovery now stands at 96578.
The Ministry also released positivity rate statistics showing that the current positivity rate is 13.5 percent. This is a piece of good news compared to yesterday's statistics that showed the positivity rate was 16.7 percent.
For normal activities to resume across the country the positivity rate must drop to below ten percent and specifically below five percent. If Kenyans continue to adhere to the Ministry of Health guidelines, the war against the virus will be won sooner than later.
