
The Cabinet secretary in charge of tourism Rebecca Malonza has today made her first tour of Rusinga which is in Nyanza for the official launch of a festival that is expected to bring revenue to the County.

The cabinet secretary landing in the area aboard a Kenya wildlife services chopper together with her team comprising of several leaders from nyanza and the ministry of tourism.

The event happening Despite the area governor Anyang Nyongo skipping the event claiming that he was held Elsewhere and that's the reason for him not attending the launch.
The annual event brings together competitors drawn from different Fields including boat racing which is a common Sports in the area because of the Lake Victoria which serves as a source of livelihood for many in the area. The festival is expected to run throughout the weekend and come to a halt on Sunday with major performances from musicians from the area.
