Kenya continues to experience the third wave of Coronavirus pandemic. The government was forced to introduce some stringent measures to curb the spread of the virus. Some red counties zoned to be disease-infested were locked down and cessation of movement to and from imposed. The Ministry of Health continues to announce new figures of positive cases each day.
Today the Ministry of Health announced that 1027 people tested positive for Coronavirus in the last 24hours. This is after a sample size of 7, 184 were tested in the last 24 hours.
The Ministry also delivered some good news to Kenyans stating that 382 patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. Some were from home-based isolation care while others recovered from different health care facilities across the country.
The Health Ministry also announced that 20 patients lost the battle to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours. This brings total deaths to 2463 since the pandemic hit the country.
The country's positivity rate now stands at 14.3 percent. This is an increase of one percent compared to yesterday where the positivity rate was 13.4 percent. The positivity rate needs to drop to less than ten percent for normal operations to resume across the country.
For the last week, the positivity rate has been between 12 percent to 19 percent and has been dropping significantly. This means that Kenya is slowly winning the war against coronavirus.
