According to Tina Okello her main work involves beautifying the dead and its something they puts food on her table. She doesn't take alcohol as well has her own Salon in Mombasa also where she earns another supplement income.
According to her, her family has been very supportive of her work and at times they help her get the complexities of the make up. It's a job she started while at 34 years of age after she lost her friend whom she used to decorate through make up. She decorated her during her burial and that's how she has come to appreciate her career.
Tina wanted to be a soldier but that dream never materialized. However according to her, her work has not been easy since the entry of Covid-19 for the work of decorating the dead was left to only nurses.
Tina has lost money in thousands for she was not able to travel to Nairobi at times from Mombasa due to lock downs at times losing money to the tunes of Ksh 50,000. According to her however is that moving into the future she hopes her work will thrive once again.
