How to Get Rid of Smelly Feet

Sweating of your body parts is increased by hyperhidrosis, yeast infections, and stress. The bacteria produced causes bad smells. There are several ways you can use to get rid of the smelly feet.

Remove breeding grounds for bacteria

The bacteria that cause bad smells breed under the nails, and in toughened skin areas. You should cleanse your soles with pumice when washing your feet. Your nails need to look short by cutting them.

Wipe between your toes after washing

According to podologists, you should avoid wiping your feet immediately after showering. You need to wipe your toes using a towel in order to remove the remaining moisture. The moisture in between the feet can cause a fungal infection.

Brew some tea for your feet

Tea leaves has tannins which remove bacteria and reduce sweating. You have to brew 3 teaspoon of tea in 1 L of hot water. Add 2 L of cold water. Put your feet inside the solution for around 15 to 30 minutes.

Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar can be used to dispose your foot odor. You have to mix 0.5 L of vinegar with 200 ml of warm water. Take a piece of gauze, and then soak it in the solution formed. Apply the solution on your feet for 20 minutes. The skin will dry naturally after a short period of time.

Use of aromatherapy oils

Lavender oil has an effect on bacteria. You can massage your feet with 4 drops of oil, or take a foot bath of 2 drops of oil that is mixed with 3 to 4 L of water.

Wash your socks inside out

Washing the socks inside out clean the skin cells and bacteria. The socks become favorable for your feet. Remember the socks should not be synthetic.

Use antiperspirant on your feet

Antiperspirants contain chemicals which reduce sweating. You need to apply it after a shower. Your skin will look dry after sometime.

Consult a doctor

If your feet start smelling, itching or peeling, you need to see a doctor. These symptoms look alike to those of ringworm. The ringworm infection is caused by parasitic fungi.
