Husband to Late World Athletics Champion Agnes Tirop will know his fate on the bond application on 1 April 202, an Eldoret High Court has directed.
Justice Reuben Nyakundi said that he could not make a conclusive decision on the application has he had not received submissions from defence considering the Prosecution had objected to his release on bond.
In their objection, the prosecution argued that if Rotich was to be released on bond, he might influence, threaten or interfere with witnesses hence hindering justice to her death.
Ibrahim Rotyich is said to have killed the deceased over the properties that he wanted to acquire. In the decision, the court directed Tirop's family to take custody of all her properties until the probe is heard and concluded.
Tirop's father Vincent Tirop was given the power to be the temporary custodian of all her properties.
Rotich was arrested at Changamwe in Mombasa County on October 15, 2021, after being trailed for two days by detectives.
The court is expected to commence hearing after the bond ruling is made.
