The High Court has jailed a former college student for 40 years for stabbing his ex-girlfriend, school bursar, to death in Lira City.
The suspect; Calvin Alele, 30, was charged on Monday after proving his guilt for killing Scovia Amule in 2019.
The court heard that Alele during the month of January 2019 while at Kabalega market in Dokolo District with full knowledge illegally stabbed Amule to death.
Alele fell in love with Amule in 2016 when working as school bursar at Leo Atubo College and the suspect was a college student. The two lovebirds cohabitated in different places like Lumumba, Uhuru Bar, Obanga Pe Wany, and Ober Kampala, all in Lira Town.
But in 2017, the relationship began deteriorating after the suspect got the wind that his girlfriend had two grown up kids.
On January 18, 2019, Amule dissappeared and on February 27 same year, the victim’s sister only identified as Auma told their brother on what is happening.
Ten days later, a decomposing body said to be of Amule was discovered at Kabalega market, Kangai Sub County in Dokolo District.
