What The Kenya Somalia Maritime Dispute Means to Eastern Africa

Yesterday the International Court of Justice said that it will give out it's final ruling concerning the Kenya Somalia Maritime dispute on 12th October this year which is less than one month away, the ruling will bring the dispute to an end after lasting for more than eight years.

The ruling will be of great concern to the Eastern Africa region for it will mean a lot, all the maritime boarders in the region extend eastwards in a 90 degrees angle that make sure each and every country enjoy the benefits of the Indian ocean regardless of the angle that it's land boarders come into contact with the ocean.

If Kenya will emerge to be the winner nothing will change in the region but if Somalia will emerge as the winner many things will change for the boarders will have to be redrawn again which will end up creating other boarder disputes in other countries.
