It was a sigh of relief for Public Service and Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa after the murder charge she was facing was formally withdrawn on Wednesday, 21 Dec 2022.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) made an application at Mombasa High Court to have the murder charge withdrawn, and Jumwa to be a state witness.
Minutes after the case was formally withdrawn, Aisha Jumwa who was present in the courtroom rose from her seat and went in front of the judge and bowed down.
For starters, bowing down in the courtroom is a custom to show respect for the Court of law. It is usually done by advocates as they represent their clients in their respective cases.
In this case, it was Aisha Jumwa who went before the court and showed her respect by bowing down while facing the judge.
