BREAKING: NYS Suspect Detained by Court at Lang'ata Women's Prison Over 20 Million Shilling Case

A few years ago, one of the biggest looting scandals in the country emerged where Phyllis Ngirita was determined as the lead mastermind in the case that has now dragged on for years.

The businesswoman from Naivasha in Nakuru County has been going back and forth to court in what has now turned out to be a cat and mouse game with the authorities after she skipped appearing in court a few days ago.

A warrant of arrest was issued against her and as it turned out, she had been evading a 20 million shilling tax case that was labelled against her by the prosecution.

She was arrested and this morning has appeared in court to answer to the charges that were labelled against her.

The visibly distraught businesswoman is set to remain in custody for a period of two days for skipping the hearing.

She will be detained at the infamous Langata Women's Prison that is in Nairobi County.
