Good News As CJ Koome Directs Release Of Inmates Who Meet These Two Conditions

Chief Justice Martha Koome has spelled out good news to all inmates that have been jailed for relatively minor offenses by resident magistrates and presiding judges.

While addressing judges in Mombasa yesterday during the 17th annual High court leaders conference, the CJ asked for review of sentences of such convicts and release them from jail inorder to reduce congestion if at all they met two conditions.

The first condition is that the said inmates must have shown evidence of reforming while at the prison while the second condition is that the inmates must be legible for community service and be productive in the society.

This is good news to all inmates who meet the two conditions as a good number will benefit from the scheme.

Koome asked all the members of the judiciary who attended the event to shun away from being corrupt as they execute their mandate to Kenyans seeking justice.
