The Family of Ngumbao Jola who was shot dead during a scuffle that involved Gender and Public Service Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa has withdrawn from the murder case after the court cleared the key suspect in the matter. The Director of Public Prosecution withdrew charges against Jumwa and only his bodyguard is still facing the murder charges.

Family members gathered at the gravesite of Jola and conducted prayers after which they announced that they would no longer be part of the case as the main suspect had been set free. This is very unfortunate as the family is not satisfied with the decision. They have said that their son was brutally murdered and justice for him must prevail.
