Housegirl Sentenced to 15 Years in Jail for Sexually Abusing Employer's 2-Year-Old Daughter

A 25-year-old housegirl has been sentenced to 15 years in jail after she was found guilty of sexually abusing her employer's 2-year-old daughter in Nyamira County. The accused identified as Martha Bosire is said to have committed the offence between 14 of November 2021 and 9 of December 2021.

She confessed before Keroka Senior Resident Magistrate Simon Arome that she used to insert her fingers inside the 2-year-old baby and later on treat the injured parts with methylated spirits then give the baby sweets to make her keep quiet about it.

The househelp calmly accepted her mistakes asking the court to be lenient on her because she is an orphan and has a small baby who depends on her for provision. She promised that she will never repeat what she did and that she is sorry.

The grandmother to the 2-year old is the one who noticed that she was not okay and upon checking she discovered visible injuries. She reported the matter to the police and took the minor to Borabu Sub-county Hospital where it was established that she was sexually abused and was treated.

This story should teach parents to be careful with the househelps they employ and ensure that they talk to their children closely for them to open up before it is too late.
