Peaceful demonstration is ways to exercise democracy according to me if citizens Avoid to engage themselves in violence which may lead to police officer intervention. However, some times some people may end up using demonstration to engage in violence and destroy other people's property.
However During peaceful demonstration, some police have been reported using force in order to suppress citizens. Through this, we have lost innocent citizens. For instance, citizen TV has reported that a residents from Ramula who were together with others in peaceful demonstration was shot down on spot by police officer.
This incidence has been condemned by many which includes, the area Member of Parliament, Elisha Odhiambo, has spoken out while tears falling down his cheeks saying that it was brutality and the area government officials had intervene in order to restore justice system in the area.
The government should prevent such incidence by ensuring that police officers should avoid using forceful oppression especially when dealing with citizens conducting peaceful demonstrations.
