Yesterday, Justice Martha Koome was sworn in as the next Chief Justice, becoming the first Kenyan lady to hold such a high ranking position in Judiciary.On the attendance was President Uhuru Kenyatta who wished her the best.Raila,Ruto among other leaders took the chance and congratulated her also.
The Soy MP urged Koome to make sure that the 41 judges who have been approved to work in courts but have not been sworn in,are cleared to discharge their duties.
The MP also urged Koome to swear in the judges before the BBI appeal on High Court ruling is discharged.He also beseeched to lead the Judiciary the way David Maraga led it and to discharge their duties fairly without interference.
Currently,the BBI appeal is in the High Court of Appeal.The petition was applied by promoters of BBI including Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
