ODM Party Recives Big Blow As Court Blocks The Approval Of Its Member As Nyamira Deputy Governor

The ODM party member James Gesami who was set to be the Deputy Governor of Nyamira county has received a blow on his approval after the High court issues orders blocking his approval.

The former West Mugirango MP's name was on Wednesday agreed to be forwarded to the court for vetting after ODM leader Raila Amollo Odinga resolved the issue that was hitting up between the members concerning who to be granted the post.

However, after this exercise the Nyamira High Court stopped the processing of the nominee following the petition filed by Patrick Atambo. The court passed the following orders;

"That interim conservatory orders be and hereby issued staying the process of nomination and/ or processing a nominee to the office of a deputy Governor, county government of Nyamira pending the hearing and determination of the application," the court order says.

Due to the order, Gesami who was set to appear before the court on Friday was not able to proceed with his vetting process after being shown the court orders. Gesami's fate as the Nyamira county governor now to be determine on June 8 when the case is scheduled to be heard. Meanwhile the Nyamira county to function without a governor till then.
