Kenya Ports Authority Managing Director Removed Through Fake Court Order.

On Tuesday, the 13th of July, a Mombasa based court discovered that a fake court order was used in effecting leadership changes at the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA).

The widely covered order by the press purported to suspend John Mwangemi, the KPA Managing Director.

The Employment and Labour Relations Court presiding Judge however found out that the order was different from the handwritten instructions that were delivered last week.

On the first of July 2021, The Board of Directors of Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) announced the appointment by the Government of Ambassador John Mwangemi as the new Acting Managing Director.

His appointment took effect immediately as Eng. Rashid Salim proceeded to retirement. He was to hold the position until a substantive Managing Director was appointed.

By the time of appointment, Ambassador John Mwangemi was the immediate former Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to Djibouti and Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).

He previously served as Kenya's High Commissioner to Rwanda and he also held executive leadership positions in the corporate world locally and internationally.

According to Justice Byram Ongaya's clarification, the order that allegedly quashed the appointment of the KPA MD was erroneous. He directed that a proper one to be extracted, verified and served to the parties.
