The BBI Appeal hearing officially started today with several top lawyers lining for different sides. The likes of Nelson Havi, Githu Muigai, Kennedy Ogutu, Elias Mutuma, Paul Mwangi, James Orengo, Kithure Kindiki, and Otiende Omollo were all in court for the appeal hearing.
One notable absentee however was veteran Lawyer Professor John Khaminwa who was expected to represent the KNHCR in the case. According to Professor Khaminwa's niece, Valentine Khaminwa, his uncle was not going to be able to make it for today's hearing since he was attending a burial of a close friend.
The senior lawyer however requested to be allowed to make his submission lastly through zoom meeting. The president of the Appeal Court Daniel Musinga agreed to the request.
The oral submissions are expected to go on for the next few days before the seven Man bench makes a ruling on the BBI report.
