Protests Erupt at Moi University.

On Monday, October 25, protests erupted in Moi University after lecturers took to the streets to make their grievances public.

While speaking to the media, a unionist lamented that the teaching staff had not been paid for the last three months while the school's farm workers were yet to receive their 13 months salary.

The lecturers called on the government to listen to their plight, failure to that, they would not go back to class.

"We are here today because we want to get justice. As it is, the donkey is tired (sic). Enough is enough," one of the unionist stated.

The tutors demanded the ouster of the University's leadership.Police officers had to be deployed to contain the situation.

In addition, they demanded University Vice Chancellor Isaac Kosgey's audience, saying that he ought to explain why they had not received their salaries.
