Atwoli Leaves This Warning Message That Has Left Kenyans Baffled

Francis Atwoli, COTU Secretary general during the Labour day celebration left a message for workers that left many Kenyans talking.

Atwoli claimed that, workers don’t join unions just because they want to but for their own protection and job security.

He further added that, workers were not joining unions to have him benefit but for the trade unions to help them in case of termination or unfair dismissals.

About the BBI, Atwoli urged Kenyans to stand with Uhuru and his brother Raila Odinga on the agenda of BBI claiming that, workers are the ones who suffer the most before and after chaotic elections.

In response, Nelson Havi claimed that COTU Secretary General, Francis Atwoli had sold out workers and had been captured by the State declaring that, the vibrant workers’ union had been transformed to a parastatal and that workers were just but slaves of an inconsequential COTU.

A Kenyan who agreed with Havi claimed that, what the SG had said had just confirmed his worst fears, that the vibrant umbrella body COTU was under siege noting that Atwoli was just taking about BBI and Uhuru when hotels were closed, workers had lost jobs, as taxes were exorbitant.
