Former president Uhuru Kenyatta and President William Ruto last met in public two days ago, the first time since the Kenya Kwanza government assumed power. At the start of the regional peace talks, Mr. Kenyatta and Mr. Ruto had a meeting at the Safari Park Hotel. During the talks, Uhuru Kenyatta, who is dedicated to promoting peace in the region, shared the stage alongside Ruto. Ruto commended Uhuru for his efforts in directing the peace negotiations. Additionally, Raila Odinga canceled yesterday's nationwide protests against the expulsion of the four IEBC commissioners.
Professor Noah Midamba, however, stated in his morning address that those who are preparing obituaries for Raila are gravely mistaken since he will not pass away any time soon. According to Ahmed Hashi, Raila lacks the moral justification for calling for widespread protests, but Ruto should also leave the IEBC commissioners alone. President Ruto should invite Raila and Uhuru to State House for a cup of tea, continued Hashi, because this nation has to come together.
