Garissa Family Seeks Justice For Their Kin Shot Dead By Kenya Defence Forces Soldiers In Somalia

A family in Fafi, Garissa, is seeking justice for their kin who 'was killed by Kenya Defence Forces soldiers' on

The family said their kin was allegedly killed by the KDF soldiers in Raskamboni, Somalia in October, 17,2021.

The deceased identified as Arab Maulid had fled to Somalia with 90 heads of cattle in search for pasture and water for his animals due to the ongoing drought that has wrecked havoc in some parts of Lamu.

Accordingto the bereaved family, the Independent police Oversight Authority established that Arab was shot dead after rocket propelled grenade and sprayed by the KDF soldiers saw the victim died on the spot alongside his 42 heads of cattle.

The family said that the remaining 50 heads of cattle escaped to Raskamboni area and are still missing.

The latest report was filed at Bura police unit.

Garissa human rights group vowed to follow up the matter to ensure the family the deceased gets his justice.

The matter is still investigations with security officers.
