IEBC Commissioner Irene Masit has confirmed that she received an unknown call and threatened to resign by Friday.
She received a call from an unidentified female caller who apparently gave her those instruction in regard to resignation.
The Tribunal dismissed the objections and confirmed that each of the four commissioners face trial one by one. Masit has involved a lawyer in her trial because the co-accused already resigned.
The fact that the other three commissioners had resigned, this could also mean that chances are Irene Masit would not have survived. In this issue, Justice Aggrey Muchelule did not agree as each of them had to be tried on an individual basis.
Commissioner Justus resigned first followed by vice-chair Juliana Cherera and Francis Wanderi exited later.
The tribunal said it will resume on December 20 pending the hearing so that they can come up with a conclusion about the issue. Irene Masit's lawyer concluded by acknowledging that his client will come out victorious and be able to face the trial she was facing.
